The renovation has started

The Renovation of The Old Moulin De Planchette has started and it will gradually be turned into The Micro Macro Monde Center. this is just the beginning of a long process where the old mill will be transformed more or less totally

The first part of the renovation is to make the old stable building into a my private sphere on the first floor as well as making space for office, showroom etc. on the ground floor.

Obviously the renovation is done in the most eco friendly way. Ill explain more about the consideration later.

And news for now is that the former owner Muriel Stubbs has offered to help with developing the gardens around the mill.

Damien de Villèle from ECO Villa has agreed to help with the renovation and the initial work in order to make the stable building habitable will start shortly. Damien and his business partner Pierre has just started Eco Villa a company which will only develop sustainable houses and projects. The first project Eco Villa is working on is a strawbale house in La Ferte Bernard - one of the first in France.

The plan is now to also start the building of a mini strawbale house which will become the “communication center” on MMM. Establishing a phone line to the mill will be very expensive and its therefore easier to put up a small cottage whereto the phone line is led and a WIFI system will then be established on part of the MMM-land. Below some first sketches on how it possibly could come to look.

Become a volunteer on the MMM project

You are more than welcome to come and help develop the Micro Macro Monde project at Moulin de Planchette and the volunteer projects being developed in relation to the Experience Design Lab.

Not much can be offered apart from being part of a new exiting projects which hopefully will inspire many in the future. During this summer 2008 there will be various test courses at the Moulin. You will be able to see the tentative program in mid May here on the site - among other activities the big MMM-event July 25th to 27th 2008.

This year most people will be living in tents - either their own or the indian tents made from organic cotton which will be there from app. start July.

The challenges

There will be numerous things that needs to be done and its all rather interesting challenges. Some work will be helping with the organization of WORLDBY and THE COMMITMENTS PROGRAM and THE COMMITTERS NETWORK and the other work will be about helping getting the MMM center in France to work. If you are interested challenges might also be possible in India.

-making interiors with natural paints, mud etc.

-making the gardens / farming / animals etc.

-making massovens

-making reedbeeds for rinsing water

-making Le Spa - a kind of bathhouse

-making floors

-making natural swimmingpool

-making fishing ponds

and lots of other things…

What is offered is a place to stay, food and a lot of fun and a possibility of being part of building up a unique place and seeing it grow to the benefit of everyone. If you come and help we can discuss that you can come back and stay for free for various activities. You can consider it a “Conscious Holistic Hedonist Activity-vacation” - and by that I mean it has to be fun and enjoyable too. we will have nice experimental food, do yoga, make lectures and have interesting talks, paint, do sculptures etc. as well - there should be time for other things than just work. Come and help making dreams come true - and consider being at the Moulin a kind of DO-shop….its about enjoying doing what is needed.

Energy production at Micro Macro Monde - revolutionary technology will come to be used.

The Micro Macro Center will be totally self sufficient with energy, water, rinse and reuse in various ways all its waste water etc. – and all other resources that comes into the area such as maybe plastics, metals, papers etc. that guests, Earthnauts and others might bring will all be converted into something new – one way or another – in obviously a sustainable way. There are no garbage bins at MMM only reuse and recycling and composting ”urns”. The MMM center might be the first ”NO-waste” and total self sufficiency place on the planet – at least we will try as hard as we can to show that its possible. And you will be able to read a lot more about all the projects we will initiate in order to achieve our goals.

One of projects in this relation is obviously how to make fx. Electricity.
At The Moulin De Planchette where the Micro Macro Monde Center is based there is a fantastic waterfall. The waterfall is not huge (app. 5 meters fall) but according to the opinion of Global Institute For New Energy Techonologies its enough to produces significant power for the MMM center.

Global Institute For New Energy Techonologies (GIFNET) is an organization which is working towards developing new DECENTRALIZED energy solution for a world in great demand of energy. The technologies developed are absolutely amazing and most of what is happening sounds like pure science fiction, but mind you – it works. Introduction

We as humans are always looking for innovative new and exiting ideas to stimulate our ever more demanding lifestyles on planet Earth. However now time is ripe for big changes and challenges in order to get our world into some kind of balance OR “sustainable-out-of-balance” where we the homo sapiens, the animals, the plants and the earth in general can prosper in a ways that makes sense to everything. There are amazing possibilities which have never been explored and there are colossal amounts of creative energy out there which is only to be inspired, ignited and maybe directed in order to go new ways.

Business of tomorrow is not just about making more profits for shareholders – its about making qualitative life enhancing and sustainably responsible profits which will evidently look and feel different.

Our modern especially western developed societies will have to change dramatically, but only for the better if we do it right. We have all the possibilities to design a new and sustainable world, which in fusions of old and new technologies, old and new philosophies will no doubt look very different in certain areas and in others maybe almost ancient.

Humans are generally very curious but also often very conservative, but what todays world needs is ignition of really new and RADICALLY RETHOUGHT VISIONS and input in order to come with solutions to the many challenges we are facing on the planet. The creative possibilities are enormous. They need to be explored – the platforms for the explorations is what MMM is about.

The MMM centers will be a new kind of fusion-platform of a developing knowledge, leisure, learning and doing centers…

The first MMM center will be placed in France on a beautiful piece of land with an old water mill and 1,5 hours south west of Paris (not on a horse) and by airship app. 30 min. - the next MMM center might be very close to you.

THE MMM centers will become places where you can come and get inspiration by living and working for shorter or longer periods. Its not a regular hotel nor a retreat - its for people who can see and feel the big perspectives in life and in the universe but who maybe needs grounding and seeing how things could work in real life – the MMMs are real-life laboratories or platforms for creative experimental exploration of new sustainable lifestyle concepts.

The MMM centers will become places where business people or the industry will meet art, design, architecture and the more immaterial dimensions of life – but in the ultimate sustainable setting.

The MMM Vision (continued):

The intention is to build not only one but many MMM´s all over the world where its possible to come and learn, be inspired, sense and feel how we through innovative thinking and doing can create or design RADICALLY NEW (sustainable) CONCEPTS for a curious and maybe a bit infantile homo sapiens living on a planet slightly in crisis - caused by?.

The MMM centers are to be micro centers with a macro impact. They will be small heavens on earth designed in order to demonstrate how functional, efficient and not least beautiful a sustainable universe or lifestyle can be. Its a place to come and see, feel and not the least WORK or DO in. Its not a passive place where you come and just relax and absorb from, you contribute one way or another – maybe not in or on the exact center, but then in the network through the projects which the center will initiate or be part of.

The first MMM-center is being established on a 7 hectares piece of land in an old watermill 165 kilometers south west of Paris.

The second MMM center will happen in India opening probably in 2009.

What is a real MMM?

MMM´s will be physical platforms however immaterial as well - a kind of “experimental experience performance lab spaces” for “eternity recognizing activities” – which will facilitate projects with whatever format is needed. Collaborations will happen with people, projects, companies etc. worldwide.

MMM is NOT only physical structures with no content. The entire concept is based on learning by doing and establishing projects with a firm foundation and understanding of the microscopic as well as the macroscopic issues in life.

MMM is a mix between the following on on a micro-scale:

-An danish folk high school / ecolodge / resort / refugium / retreat – but yet a place where you DO – its NOT a passive place where you come to just relax. Its a place where new thoughts, ideas and concepts are developed hand in hand in with building up the actual places OR maintaining them…

MMM is a will contain the following :

-DIY Grillo-eatery and MMMafe & MMMaison Manche – places to prepare and eat divine food…

-Gallery / showroom / shop – places to show the best in new exiting products from primarily small and medium size businesses from all over the world…

-Event place – parties, events, exhibitions – outdoor as indoor..

-Amphi theatre – a small theatre will be established..

-Ateliers / studios for art, film, - temporary structures where artist or rather anyone professional can work…

-TV station – internet based on ”new lifestyles”, innovation, design and architecture…

-Amazing gardens and modern yet esthetic MICRO farming which work closely with the MMM-eatery and the MMMMaison Manche
-studio gardens / cottages / tents where you can live for some days experiencing MMM – build by interesting artist, designers and architects – and the users together as experiments in simple temporary structures.
-fishing ponds from where fishes are taken to be eaten on the various outdoor DIY Grillo-eateries.
-natural swimming pools
-animals – for wool, milk, fur, meat etc…

-workshops and Labs in for various purposes – small scale investigations of vex. natural fibers and their abilities..

-alternative energy on MICRO scale but with MACRO impact – such as hydro power, hydrogen, wind energy, solar cells, biogas, fuel-cells etc…

-vehicles such as DIESTER and totally biofuel or hybrid run cars, an airship, solar cell ships, wind-ships etc.-..

-mental resting spaces and places – maybe small temples….who knows ??

-movement spaces and places…

-outdoor activities in general…

The MMM network

MMM is NOT only physical structures with no content. To say it other words – MMM is a place or platforms where knowledge is available in a kind of ”learning by doing” and working with other beings who are resourceful and therefore can inspire and teach the ”apprentices” - but the teachers, visionaries, master to come and to learn too.

“OPEN SOURCE DESIGN intention”

Another principle is the “OPEN SOURCE DESIGN intention”. Probably all work developed at an MMM center will posted on the net in various forums. One will be THE COMMITMENTS PLATFORM developed by Niels Peter Flint for Actics - see please www.actics.com.
“OPEN SOURCE DESIGN intention” is about sharing ideas, knowledge, visions and a lot more. Its about helping each other in a caring, understanding and “common sense” way. If we want Homo Sapiens to survive as a race we have some real big challenges to play around with. One is that we dont like to share - in tomorrows world we will have to - therefore “OPEN SOURCE DESIGN intention”

The MMM network

The network will be described later but will contain a kind of banking system too where members can exchange services when needed in order to develop their projects.

MMM as a venue for events

The MMM centers will host events, seminars, work and do-shops and ”master-class-like” projects every year called RADICALLY REDESIGNING THE WORLD – RRDW but also many other courses or projects could be established – one of the important features would be that people who contribute in various ways to the growth of the center will get a possibility to use it for their own courses or whatever they want to do - as long as it makes sustainable sense - and especially Conscious Holistic Hedonists (read article on CHH elsewhere here on this site) are more than welcome and also people who work with “paradise projects” or other positive, innovative, experimental etc. projects should come and really help others kick-starting a new era on this planet.

The MMM projects will be developed by partners in the network and will gradually happen worldwide. Initially the projects are developed by individuals and professional agencies. At later points the projects might develop from the new networks being established through the work developed in relation to MMM.
