SFHP is a new enterprise which is not only going to change the world of socks, but also the way we work with and perceive sustainability. EXDL India is seriously involved in developing the batch of bamboo socks which will be launched this fall in the UK. Im also personally involved - Being the ECO Oracle - (and one of the directors too), well what do you think?? Its not my invention but Tom and Rich whom you can read all about at the SFHP site.

We all have MANY really wild ideas and projects in the pipeline for SFHP and its certainly not just about socks.

If you want you can follow SFHP - on the SFHP-site but also here from time to time, and there will be lots happening. Just sign up and you will receive regular up-dates.

Niels Peter Flint
The below are sone of the answers on why Im involved with SFHP:

The Socks for Happy People Quirky Questionnaire!

1) To kick off, please tell us who you are, what you do (and have done) professionally, and how you’re involved with Socks for Happy People. (Don’t be modest, we want you to blow your trumpet a little!)

I have been titled the ECO Oracle – huuu….and wow and fun and yes maybe thats what I am. I realized some years ago that I have worked for an awful long time in the field of design and sustainability. What do I do, well its always been difficult to define and it hopefully will continue to be, but being almost 50 now (of age yes I might consider myself with knowledge and the very vivid imagination I have – an ECO Oracle…however you might need to add to this that Im NOT an ecologist, nor a biologist, nor do I have any other science background – im a designer and architect with a very strong and dedicated passion for making things in new radical and yes sustainable – and yes emotionally and spiritually and sensually and sexy etc. ways – to say it short making products and services and fusions of productservices, new super advanced and ancient amazing technologies… and fusioning it all into the most incredible amazing concepts – dreams – visions that no one has been wanting to buy into - until now. SHFP is an incredible initiative which in all its holistic chaos (yes that’s what it is if you ask me – and please stay like that) will be able to create landslides – enormous when the wheels really start turning, which they will soon. I feel very empowered and “in good company” with some super talented people who all wants get out of the misery we are in now with pollution, wars etc. With Obama becoming the new president in the US with a new look at the world as not “the end is near”, but a new beginning is there we will as humanity be able to create a PARADISE CULTURE on this planet. There is absolutely NO reason why we should not – we have EVERYTHING to do it, just we need to do a bit of mindshifting – and that’s what SFHP is about to me fundamentally…..with the constellation of spirits involved in this project we can move mountains (even though we wont, lets leave them where they are;-) – we will as proper CONSCIOUS HOLISTIC HEDONISTS (read more about this at my site www.exdl.com) help setting the agenda for global development and business of tomorrow.

2) What do you love to do when you’re not working in a professional capacity? Family, lifestyle, travel, interests, hobbies, etc.

Hmmmmmmm…..I never work I just do what I like and what I think is right – it happens that some of these activities provide me with money also, but that’s really irrelevant. The notion WORK ought NOT to exist – should be wiped out of the vocabulary – especially now when its possible to use technology to make all our commodities. Work is LIFE or LIFE is work….its life when I do yoga or paint or make funky food without cooking books but on pure intuition and its also life when I do designs and develop new complex concepts for a company fx. On how to shift from the old dirty system into the new paradise culture. Its piece of cake and yet the most complicated in the universe…well on the planet maybe and then Im single and still looking for my lifepartner…

3) What’s your biggest dream?

To see us the inhabitants on this planet taking ourselves and what we have been given seriously, profoundly understand the universe and start living in new ways where life and death and the eternal cycles are accepted and the natural systems (and YES that’s extremely complex in todays world) are followed and praised – in fusions with new advanced and appropriate technology. We kind of need to build an entire new world – a PARADISE CULTURE so yes that’s my biggest dream.

4) Of all the things, in all the world (and beyond!), what brings you the most joy?

When I occasionally feel this amazing universal energy roll through my veins, my chakras, my body – I think its called love.

5) Who would you most like to praise today and why?

There are lots of things that you could praise one is fx. The initiation of SFHP – another is that my local mayor in my village in France gives out leftover easter eggs from the local supermarket (where she works) to the kids of the village. I could praise her doing that (and I do) since it shows a generous and conscious soul and no its for sure not just to be smart and win votes, BUT the problem with a little gesture like that no matter how sweet it seems is that these eggs are made from the worst crap and ought not be there in the first place in those materials, in that packaging etc. I could praise so many initiatives and things like micro banking services, bike taxis, windmills etc. etc. the problem is that we are still in an old paradigm and we need to shift. We need to profoundly understand how its all put together and for that a dramatic mindshift is needed and I mean A DRAMATIC. We need to radically redesign and redo practically everything we have materialized here on the planet since the industrial revolution started. When I start to see this happen Ill know what to praise and I sincerely hope and wish that SFHP will be one of the first companies in the world to profoundly do business “in the new mindset” (whatever it is;-)

6) If you were a superhero, what would be your power?

To be able to project something into the minds of human beings that would make them turn from greedy, selfish, judgmental creatures into loving, caring and “understanding-the-eternal-laws-of-the-universe-beings” – to become paradise culture kids.

7) You’re the Socks for Happy People designer, what do your socks be like?

Oh lala – theyd probably be very soft and warm, like feathers around your foot. But honestly yes I do have a hell lot of ideas, but we can always discuss that another time…;-)

What are your most effective habits of happiness? (The things you do that puts you in a good mood!)

Primarily its when I walk in REAL or should I call it HAPPY nature (nature that has not been mistreated with chemicals, planted and living in mono cultures etc.). Plants are alive and so is all the rest – well EVERYTHING (in the universe btw) is alive and in CONSTANT TRANSFORMATION and when I really sense that then I feel so happy – now when I sense that others do that the same way intuitively (without being told that you should feel) that makes me even more happy. It’s the BIGGEST and most powerful sensation….

9) How has your view of socks changed since your involvement with Socks for Happy People?

Well my view on socks might not have changed a lot but my dreams about being part of the wildest company on the planet are getting together and that changes my view on socks and on business and obviously on socksbusiness.

10) What inspires you the most about working with this company (and specifically a sock company!)?

As I have mentioned before everything on the planet needs to be redone. Its impossible to support and provide the superfluous western lifestyle to everyone on the planet, being socks, toilet paper, tooth picks – anything and everything needs to be done differently if we want to provide a prosperous life for everyone. Today there are 4 billion so called have-nots on the planet. That’s the new market and that has to be taken care of appropriately in the most sustainable ways otherwise we need to get hold of another 3 to 5 planets to get resources from. What inspires me working with SFHP is that we will do all that’s within our capabilities and possibilities to do the needed – we will be part of creating PARADISE CULTURE on this fantastic planet.

11) What do you feel is the best thing about Socks for Happy People?

I have no idea….that its called Socks for Happy People….it actyally makes people smile J

12) To my mind, Socks for Happy People will be successful when…

..we have managed to make philosophies and actual system design where our products and services have an absolute minimum impact but a maximum output of influence and inspiration on how the world should do business and how materials and products can flow in eternal cycles.

13) What brand(s), designer(s), artist(s), organization(s), group(s), and/or people would you like to see Socks for Happy People collaborate with and why?

Hmmmmmm….Pradan in India (non violent silk) MC4 – micro economy – I think we need to develop further and then we will see people, companies etc. coming all by themselves – they will want to know how we do it and they will want to become partners, but first we will teach them through various ways of schooling and THEN they will become partners – that’s why “SFHP REFLEXTION PLACES” are important – a kind of SFHP academy…which yes we will do at Micro Macro Monde my place in France, which will btw become an important brand for SFHP and vice versa.

14) Other than your current role with Socks for Happy People, which role would you most like to be in and why?’

I feel very comfortable being an Eco Oracle, but need to be a bit designerish from time to time – to do a bit of creative wanking. Which I btw don’t have to do alone only…

15) Which famous person do you think could, should and will wear our socks?

Id love to see Julie Christie, Rattan Tata, Gaddafi, Prince Charles and his mother, Obama, Nelson Mandela, Fidel Castro, Madonna, Jessie Norman, Jodie Foster, George Cloney, Ricky Martin and George Michael

16) Who do you think should we surprise with a pair of our socks, and why? - you mean Who do you think we should surprise with a pair of our socks, and why????

Well of the above???? Maybe George Michael – maybe we should do a special QUEER sock…made partly from recycled condoms mixed with silk and hemp – that way maybe we could avoid using elastane and at the same time add a bit of expressive story to the product ;-)))

Roger over….ciao NP
